Last week after Annie and I posted our 2014 Bucket Lists Activate Good posted their “52 Weeks; 52 Ways to Volunteer in the Triangle in 2014“. As you recall, one of my personal bucket list items was to find at least one way every month to give back to the community. Talk about fate.
If you’ve been a reader of Under the Oak blog (P.S. this is our 200th post!) you’ve probably seen a couple of posts in which we’ve mentioned Activate Good in passing. I’ve participated with Activate Good through Couture for a Cause and 9-11 Day of Service activities, but they really offer a large number of opportunities to give back to the community. Activate Good serves as a volunteer vehicle by connecting those that want to give back to their community with opportunities to do so.
For the 52 Weeks; 52 Ways to Volunteer in the Triangle in 2014 Activate Goods lists a unique volunteer opportunity per week. The list is incredibly comprehensive and easy to access, and you can easily get more information for an opportunity by clicking on the links provided for each week. I’ve already bookmarked it on my phone and computer. I am going to study the list well and select from every month an opportunity to give back; 2014 bucket list – check! For the Type A in me this is going to be fantastic to be able to plan so far ahead.

Another great resource from Activate Good is their Ongoing Opportunities page in which they list dozens of volunteer opportunities. You might be surprised by some of the opportunities and how closely they match up with your personal passions and skills.
If you live in or around the Triangle I encourage you to take a peek at [and bookmark] Activate Good’s 52 Ways to Volunteer! xoxo ‘n lols, crystal
