Since we spend our holidays with my family, who are all traditional holiday dinner eaters, I’ve been searching for paleo recipes that are easily incorporated into a typical Thanksgiving dinner. Since mashed cauliflower and no-bread stuffing are not viable options, I’m looking to alter dishes that can easily be made paleo or swapping dishes all together for its healthier, yet still tradition-acceptable alternatives. Remember to stock up on plenty of ghee (vs. butter) before you do your holiday cooking!
First up is the Roasted Butternut Squash Soup from Paleo Grubs. This is an easy, tasty alternative to a cream based soup. These soups are also becoming more and more popular as everyday meals and it just so happens to be paleo!
Next is the Cranberry-Spinach Stuffed Pork Loin from DJ Foodie. I am very firm in my belief that turkey should be had on Thanksgiving and ham on Christmas so I won’t ever stray from that but a good addition to the Thanksgiving table could be this pork loin.
And finally, what’s Thanksgiving without gravy? This Gluten Free Gravy from Holistic Squid is the best I found. No starches or butter, this gravy is simple and may just be better than what you’re used to.
