Welcome to Recap #2 of our trip north. In the middle of DIYing it for my mom, we headed off to Canada for a day trip. Now that we both have our passports, it was easy for us to head up there while home. Plus, taking Jason to Niagara Falls for the first time was on my Official 30 before 30 Bucket List! Crystal touched on some of the same things in her review of Toronto last month, which is funny because we didn’t plan it that way!
Upstate New York is sprinkled with these amazing contraptions. I have no idea where this love of mine came from for windmills but I am in complete awe of them. So after snapping a millions blurry pictures as we passed by and complaining that I can’t get a good shot, Jason stopped off and let me get some awesome shots. In case you missed the one from the other day, you can see it here!
Jason and I were snapping panoramas hoping to get a good one to frame. I think this one fits the bill.
So Niagara Falls is crazy. It’s a crazy tourist destination with all sorts of beauty and magnificence and… Ripley’s Believe It or Not, wax museums, upside down houses, and fast food places attached to overpriced attractions. We didn’t spend much time on Clifton Hill, which is where you can see all this and more, but I wanted to snap some photos.
After this, we were almost ready for dinner so we headed back to the car, after paying $20 to park for an hour and a half and headed up the “coast” to Niagara on the Lake.
It was such a beautiful night made even more beautiful by our scenery. I was so thankful that Jason’s first trip to that part of Canada was pretty close to perfect. However, on the way home we lost some money…
Have you ever visited this part of the country? What did you think of it?
